Collecting, using, and sharing visitor information

Many of our online activities don’t require visitors to our website to register for an account or give us any personal information. Nationwide Better Health and our business partners are still interested, however, in who visits our site and how they use it. We use cookies so we can improve your online experience. Some Nationwide Better Health programs require us to collect and use your personal information.

Personal information is any information that identifies you and describes your relationship with Nationwide Better Health. Some examples of the information that we may collect include:

  • Any information you give Nationwide Better Health

If you enroll for a program, we may collect your medical information. But, we won’t use or share your medical information for marketing, unless you give us your permission.

You may choose to use your personal email to correspond with Nationwide Better Health. Please be careful about the information you send to us in email. As with any public web tool, your email may not be secure.

Your employer (or the employer of your spouse, partner or family member) allows you to use the Health Management Program described on this website. Your participation in the Health Management Program is completely voluntary, but if you do participate, we will need to collect your personal information to allow you to use the benefits of the Health Management Service. We collect your personal information from the online questionnaire or via any follow-up communications we may have with you, which may include email, telephone, or postal mail.

You may choose to correspond with Nationwide Better Health via email. Please be careful about the information you send to us in email. As with any public Web tool, email may not be secure so please do not include sensitive information.

We collect your personal information when you:

  • Apply for programs or services

Sharing your personal information

We don’t sell your personal information. 

When you sign up for one of our programs, we may share your information with other Nationwide companies or our business partners to administer your program. For some of our programs, we are required to share limited information with your health plan or your employer’s designees who administer health and wellness programs. Nationwide Better Health may advise Plans whether enrollees have chosen to participate in: care, disease or maternity management, or wellness and health promotion programs and whether they qualify for incentives, if offered by the Plan.

Sharing your personal information for marketing

We don’t sell your information for marketing purposes. We do not share your personal information to anyone except to delivery your program. So, there’s no reason for you to opt out. If we change our policy, we’ll tell you and give you an opportunity to opt out before we share your information.

Confidentiality and security

We use physical and technical safeguards to protect your personal information. We limit access to your personal information to those who need it to do their jobs. The law requires our business partners to use your personal information only for our purposes. They may not share it or use it in any other way. We comply with all data security laws.

We have a process that allows you to review your information after we have verified your identity. We can only give access to information that we control.
